'91 Honda CBR600F PC25 - Part 1 - Introduction

It's been almost two and a half years since I sold my 1988 Yamaha RD350LC F2, the last running and driving motorcycle I've had. A lot has happened after that. Biggest change in my life has been the move from studying to working life after graduation from University and finding a job. At the end of last year I also moved from northern to southern Finland. My projects (T250 & GT250) and are still at home, which I work on every time I visit my folks back home. It also gives me a good reason to regularly travel back few times per month.

But back to the bike and main subject of this blog post. After selling my RD, time passing and money burning in my pockets I felt that it was time to get new one to fill the void in our garage. It was an impulse buy from me, which I spotted from a Finnish used motorcycle advertisement website called Nettimoto.com. Three factors attracted me to buy it. It was close to my home in northern Finland and it was cheap. Only problem was that after moving to southern Finland it suddenly wasn't so close anymore. I ended up negotiating my father to pick it up for me with my cousin helping him.

Third reason was that I saw it as a good platform to start with if and when I will want to modify it. I've been drooling over a Cafe Racer style CBR600F built by Lucky Custom for a while and it gave me motivation to go for this one. I've already gathered few parts for it. I'll share more details when it's relevant, but for this summer I will enjoy just riding it after I do a bit of maintenance to it. At the moment front fork oil seals are leaking quite badly so that is on top of my to do list. Overall the bike is in fair condition if you consider it's age. Fairings have seen better days and they are missing few mounting spots due to cracking. At the moment there's almost 66 000 kilometer's (41 000 miles) on the trip meter. Let's see how many I will get to put on it 😎

The Kustom Kulture Show 2019 @ Cable Factory - 10th of February - Helsinki, Finland

Kustom Kulture Show is a two day event held at the Cable Factory of Helsinki. Venue isn't the biggest place but there's a lot variety and plenty of stuff to see and experience from hot rods, choppers and boppers to arts and crafts like pinstriping, airbrushing and tattooing. This year was the seventh time for the show to be organized. Saturday evening was a party night and bands like Mudville 56, The Sun Connection and The Go Getters performed on stage together with burlesque artists Zoe Scarlett and Molly Moonstone. On Sunday morning there was also a vintage swap. Take a look 😊

Autot ja Viihde 2018 - 29th of September - Lahti, Finland - Yankee Car Show - Part 1/3 - Hot Rods

Autot ja Viihde is the last of the big car shows in the calendar and marks the end of the summer cruising season in Finland. This year show was divided into two parts, Yankee Car Show and X-treme Car Show, and occupied three halls of the Expo center of Lahti, which worked as a venue for the event. Cars from all over Scandinavia participated to the three day event. There was also a lot see outside where Hobbyist Car Park gathered a lot nice cars from nearby areas.

Billy Gibbons from ZZ-Top; Jimmy Shine, a well known fabricator, car builder and owner of Shine Speedshop, and Gene Winfield, legendary car customizer, were special guests for this year's event. They gave out two awards, which were designated by them. Gene also participated into a demonstration, which included chopping a car in front of live audience.

Check out rest of the event photos from links below:

PS: I visited MP-messut, a motorcycle expo, last Saturday and next Saturday I will go to Kustom Kulture Show. Stay tuned for pictures from those events later 😊
