The Friday before last Friday I made a short one day trip to Helsinki to visit this year's MP 17 Motorcycle show held in Messukeskus, largest venue in Finland. You can find more information on the show from its
website and
Facebook page.
I started my journey from coach station of Oulu where I took a night shift bus to Kamppi, shopping center in the center of Helsinki. After travelling little over eight hours my bus reached its final destination. From Kamppi I had to take another bus to Pasila, where the show took place. Before doing so I took a short walk around downtown and went sightseeing since I had some spare time before the show started.

It was a cloudy winter day and after circling around for more than an hour in cold weather I was also starting to feel it. I walked back to the bus station and looked for a suitable bus route. It was nice to sit down in a warm bus and head to the venue.
Show was divided into two sections. First of them was covered by major and minor motorcycle manufacturers, parts dealers and racing teams, where they introduced their newest models, accessories and equipment. A lot of cool motorcycles were on display like BMW R nineT Racer and Husqvarna Vitpilen 401.

Petrol Circus, a show meant for custom build and restored motorcycles. They were divided into four categories: Custom, Street, Classic and Open. Three winners were selected out of each category by a jury, attending crowd and bike builders themselves and awarded with prizes.
My favorite was the orange 2006 Ducati Monster 620 ie Cafe Racer and probably the most interesting was the Wankel engined 1975 Suzuki RE 5.
